Job summary

STV is seeking a Field Engineer in Charlotte, NC to manage construction inspection activities for municipal transportation projects. You will work under a licensed engineer, perform on-site observations, and coordinate project documentation and control with stakeholders.

You will review schedules, budgets, and drawings to ensure compliance, administer the field office, and maintain inspector reports and quality records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• Minimum five years of progressive experience in the position offered.
• Master’s degree in civil engineering may be used to satisfy up to two years of required experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction inspection activities for municipal transportation and infrastructure projects.
• Perform civil engineering and construction inspection duties under supervision of a licensed engineer.
• Conduct on-site observations of construction installations.
• Coordinate with municipal agencies and stakeholders for project documentation and control activities.
• Prepare and process progress payments, implement change orders and perform document control functions per policies and specifications.
• Review project schedules, budgets, drawings, specifications and procedures for compliance.
• Oversee administration of the construction field office.
• Develop and review daily inspector reports and maintain records.
• Perform field quality control inspections at project and client sites.
• Enforce project management plans and guidelines.
• Position requires extensive use of Document Control Software and engineering software including Civil 3D, E-Builder and AutoCAD.
• Position based at STV offices in Charlotte, NC with ~90% travel to client sites across the Eastern U.S.
