Job summary

Consor is seeking a Junior Engineer to join the Structural Assessment team. The role blends field inspections of bridges, dams, tunnels and related structures with office work on reports, load ratings and retrofit design.

Expect travel across the United States on an infrequent basis and a path to grow technical expertise. The ideal candidate holds a Civil/Structural Engineering degree (ABET preferred), is prepared for hands-on field work, and can collaborate within a team while pursuing

Qualifications

• BS in Civil, Structural or related Engineering (ABET-accredited preferred).
• Ability to work in a team and maintain professional working relationships.
• Willing to attend bridge inspection training per FHWA BIRM and keep up with education requirements.
• Must be open to travel out-of-state or on short notice for emergency work.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety inspections of bridges and structures and prepare written reports and drawings.
• Assist inspections using testing methods, drones, climbing or diving equipment, and access machinery.
• Mobilize to other offices/states to staff inspection teams as needed.
• Perform additional structural assessment duties as required.
