Job summary

Consor is seeking a Junior Engineer on the Structural Assessment team to join a blend of field and office work. You will inspect bridges, signs, dams, and tunnels, with travel locally or across the U.S. A starting salary of $78,000 is projected, and you will develop inspection reports, load ratings, and retrofit designs.

The role requires a B.S. in Civil/Structural Engineering, strong teamwork, and willingness to travel. FHWA training, EIT/EI credits, and bridge inspection experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree preferred
• Willing to attend FHWA BIRM courses and maintain CE requirements
• Open to travel out-of-state or on short notice for emergencies
• EIT or EI certification is a plus
• Bridge inspection coursework/experience is a plus
• Physically able to perform bridge inspection tasks in the field

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety inspections of bridges and other structures, and prepare written technical reports and drawings
• Assist inspections using testing methods, mechanized access machinery, climbing or diving equipment, and drones/sonar devices
• Mobilize to other offices/states as required to staff inspection teams
• Perform additional structural assessment-related duties as assigned
