You will diagnose, repair, and replace components on desktops and laptops while delivering professional customer service to government and commercial clients. The role requires 1+ years of hands-on repair experience, a reliable vehicle, and the ability to travel 250–350 miles per week.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of hands-on experience repairing laptops and desktops.
• Experience performing break/fix hardware repairs in field/tech support.
• Comfortable replacing major components (motherboards, LCDs, storage, keyboards).
• Working knowledge of Windows OS and Microsoft Office.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer locations within the service area to perform onsite repairs.
• Diagnose and repair desktop and laptop hardware issues.
• Replace components such as: motherboards, hard drives/SSDs, LCD screens, keyboards.
• Perform complete system swaps and peripheral replacements when needed.
• Troubleshoot hardware issues and restore systems to working order.
• Document completed work and close service tickets using a mobile app.
• Deliver professional customer service while representing the organization at client locations.

Field Computer Technician

About the Opportunity

We're seeking a motivated **Field Computer Technician** to provide onsite hardware support for desktop and laptop computers throughout the North Syracuse metro area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, solving technical problems, and providing exceptional customer service while supporting a variety of business and government environments.

What You'll Do

• Travel to customer locations throughout the assigned service area to perform onsite computer repairs.
• Diagnose and repair desktop and laptop hardware issues.
• Replace components including:
  • Motherboards
  • Hard drives/SSDs
  • LCD screens
  • Keyboards
  • Other internal hardware components
• Perform complete system swaps and peripheral replacements when needed.
• Troubleshoot hardware‑related issues and restore systems to working order.
• Accurately document completed work and close service tickets using a mobile ticketing application.
• Deliver professional customer service while representing the organization at client locations.

What We're Looking For

• 1+ years of hands‑on experience repairing laptops and desktop computers.
• Experience performing break/fix hardware repairs in a field or technical support environment.
• Comfortable replacing major hardware components such as motherboards, LCDs, storage drives, and keyboards.
• Working knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work independently while effectively managing a daily service schedule.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Experience building or upgrading computers is a plus.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is required due to work performed within government and federal facilities.
• Reliable personal vehicle with valid driver's license and current auto insurance.
• Willingness to travel throughout the assigned service territory (approximately 250–350 miles per week). Mileage between customer locations is reimbursed.
• Ability to complete required technical training and certifications after selection.
• Ability to successfully pass required background and drug screening.
