Must Haves:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• Electrical engineering preferred
• Technical experience/some knowledge of high voltage equipment or substations
• Ability to read electrical schematics/drawings and installation instructions
• Ability to communicate well with customers and managers
• Comfortable traveling across United States to complete projects
• Position requires around 80% travel
• Mechanical aptitude – willingness and ability to be hands on and learn to install/commission high voltage equipment

Pluses:

• Knowledge of Gas Insulated Switchgear - pertaining to construction of electrical systems
• Hands-on experience working on high voltage substation equipment
• Professional experience performing installation work
• SF6 gas insulated switchgears preferred
• Certificate for installation of high voltage GIS Systems
• Testing/Commissioning experience

Job Description:

Insight Global is seeking to hire a GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) Field Engineer for one of our prominent energy clients located in Raleigh, NC. After being trained, this candidate will be responsible for overseeing high voltage electrical installations at various substation sites. Additionally, the Field Engineer will lead a small team of field technicians, providing expert insights and guidance for installations as needed. Someone who has a strong understanding of electrical engineering, electrical schematics and can communicate well to customers and coworkers would be a great fit for this position!
