Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field preferred.
• Experience in construction, with a focus on multifamily residential projects preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• OSHA 30-Hour certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections to ensure workmanship and materials meet project specs.
• Coordination with project managers, subcontractors, and stakeholders to meet milestones.
• Documentation: Maintain daily reports, progress photos, and as-built drawings.
• Problem-Solving: Identify issues on-site and propose solutions to minimize delays.
• Safety Compliance: Enforce safety regulations and company policies on-site.
• Submittals and RFIs: Review and process submittals and RFIs.
• Surveying and Layout: Support surveying and layout activities for accurate placement.
• Technology Utilization: Use construction management software to streamline processes.
• Project Team Communication: Maintain relationships with owners and on-site team, respond to inquiries.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Superintendent, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Engineer to join our team. The Field Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of construction projects, focusing on quality control, coordination, and problem-solving on-site. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

1. Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections to ensure that workmanship and materials meet project specifications and industry standards.
2. Coordination: Collaborate closely with project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to coordinate construction activities, resolve conflicts, and ensure project milestones are met.
3. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily reports, progress photos, and as-built drawings.
4. Problem-Solving: Identify potential issues or obstacles on-site and proactively propose solutions to minimize delays and ensure project continuity.
5. Safety Compliance: Monitor and enforce compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe work environment for all personnel.
6. Submittals and RFIs: Assist in the review and processing of submittals, requests for information (RFIs), and other project documentation.
7. Surveying and Layout: Support surveying and layout activities to ensure accurate placement of structural elements, utilities, and other components.
8. Technology Utilization: Leverage construction management software and other technology tools to streamline processes, track progress, and communicate effectively with team members.
9. Project Team Communication: Maintain positive relationships with owners and on-site project team members, and respond promptly to inquiries, concerns, and requests for information.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field preferred.
• Previous experience in construction, with a focus on multifamily residential projects preferred.
• Understanding of, or ability to learn, construction principles, techniques, and materials.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with surveying instruments and tools (e.g., total stations, GPS equipment) is a plus.
• OSHA 30-Hour certification preferred.
