Job summary

DNV Energy Systems is seeking a Site Visit Inspector to support construction monitoring and field observations for wind, solar, and storage projects. The role involves documenting progress, safety observations, and potential schedule impacts, with travel across the US and Canada.

You will work with civil, electrical, environmental, HSE, and engineering experts while independently managing field logistics and reporting outcomes. This is a hybrid role in multiple U.S.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical diploma in wind energy, renewable energy, electrical technology, civil/construction technology, engineering technology, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant field experience on wind, solar, storage, or related energy sites.
• Demonstrated interviewing, investigation, root‑cause analysis, and evidence gathering skills.
• Proficient written and verbal English communication; ability to explain observations to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site visits for wind, solar, battery energy storage, and related energy projects.
• Observe and document construction progress, workmanship, QA/QC, and non-conformances.
• Support field monitoring, Owner’s Engineering, Independent Engineering, due diligence, and commissioning observation.
• Prepare clear site visit reports using approved templates and tools.
• Plan pre-visit activities; review reports, analyses, and safety briefings.
• Maintain PPE, trainings, and readiness for varied field conditions.
• Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and internal teams.
• Manage travel and field assignments while following safety protocols.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

Education

Associate degree/technical diploma in wind energy or related field

3 years field experience in renewable energy projects

Strong organization and independent decision making

Proficient English communication

Safety awareness and PPE readiness
