Job summary

R&T Electric LLC in Central Alabama seeks an experienced Electrical Supervisor to lead field crews on commercial projects. You will supervise electricians, read plans, ensure NEC compliance, coordinate with project management and other trades, and drive safety and quality in all activities.

You will manage daily schedules, material flow, and inspections, while maintaining accurate field records and supporting project milestones. Travel to various sites throughout Central Alabama is expected.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of commercial electrical experience.
Experience supervising electricians or electrical construction crews.
Strong working knowledge of the Electrical Code (NEC).
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and schematics.
Strong understanding of commercial electrical distribution and installation practices.
Experience with conduit installation and layout, including EMT and rigid conduit.
Knowledge of switchgear, transformers, panels, feeders, branch circuits, lighting systems, and related electrical equipment.
Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and installation issues.
Ability to plan work, organize crews, and manage multiple priorities.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Ability to work effectively with project managers, general contractors, inspectors, customers, and other trades.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Ability to perform the physical requirements associated with commercial electrical construction.

Responsibilities

Supervise and direct electricians and electrical crews.
Plan and coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, and daily work activities.
Assign work and monitor crew productivity and workmanship.
Read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, one-line diagrams, panel schedules, and project documents.
Ensure installations comply with the NEC, project specs, local requirements, and company standards.
Oversee installation of conduit systems, feeders, branch circuits, lighting, and related equipment.
Coordinate electrical work with general contractors, PMs, inspectors, subcontractors, and other trades.
Identify field conflicts and develop practical solutions to avoid schedule impact.
Maintain accurate daily reports, time records, material documentation, and field paperwork.
Coordinate material deliveries and verify availability.
Perform and oversee electrical troubleshooting and testing; assist with startup, commissioning, punch-list, and closeout.
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite.
Safety responsibilities: lead daily safety meetings, enforce LOTO, PPE, OSHA NFPA 70E compliance, incident reporting.
