Job summary

Saronic Technologies Inc. seeks a versatile Forward Deployed Electrical Engineer to bring advanced autonomy tech from lab to fleet. You will deploy systems in real-world maritime missions, integrating electrical payloads, debugging complex issues, and iterating hardware designs in the field.

You will split time across lab spaces, fabrication areas, and waterfront environments, working with cross-functional teams to ensure robust, deployable solutions for autonomous vessels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 3+ years in integrated electrical/electromechanical systems, fielded or mission-critical settings.
• Hands‑on electrical integration: power, cabling, connectors, PCB bring‑up.
• Rapid prototyping and system‑level debugging experience.
• Comfort with basic test equipment and field integration setups.
• Experience with Linux-based systems and networking (TCP/IP, UDP).
• CANbus/serial communications knowledge; autonomous platforms favored.

Responsibilities

• Design systems to support electrical integration on ASVs and maritime platforms.
• Lead rapid electrical prototyping for field experiments and evolution.
• Perform system bring-up, integration, and troubleshooting of power, networking, sensors, compute.
• Own dockside and sea trials; install electrical hardware and validate in real environments.
• Drive design-for-assembly and deployment feedback into product development.
• Collaborate with Mechanical, Software, and Autonomy engineers to harden designs.
• Interface with suppliers and fabrication shops for fast component harness turnarounds.
• Contribute to documentation and training for deployment and manufacturing scale.
