Job summary

GFT in New York City seeks an Electrical Building Assessor to join our NYC team. The on-site position performs visual condition assessments of electrical systems for large facility portfolios, documenting deficiencies with field notes and photos and entering data into standardized assessment tools.

Travel is within the five boroughs on a flexible hourly, as-needed schedule. The role supports QA/QC and requires strong documentation and field-technology proficiency; PE license is preferred but not

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' relevant field experience evaluating electrical systems in buildings.
• Ability to identify typical failure modes and condition indicators for electrical components.
• Strong documentation skills; ability to communicate technical findings clearly.
• Willingness and ability to travel throughout the 5 boroughs for field assessments.
• Proficiency with field technology, including mobile data collection tools, SharePoint workflows, and structured reporting platforms.

Responsibilities

• Visually assess electrical systems cited in the job description.
• Identify deficiencies, performance issues, end-of-life indicators, and operational risks; document findings with notes and photos.
• Coordinate with structural/architectural assessors to provide a complete building-level assessment narrative.
• Use of field devices, SharePoint, and standardized assessment tools to collect, organize, upload, and manage field findings.
• Respond to Quality Review comments on post-field data entry and submission to streamline final reporting.
