Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and improve EHS programs to reduce risk and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Promote a culture of safety through leadership, accountability, and employee engagement.
• Conduct regular job site visits, audits, and risk assessments to mitigate hazards.
• Lead incident and near-miss investigations with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Partner with project teams to implement practical safety solutions.
• Deliver impactful safety training and communication at all levels.
• Oversee safety reporting, OSHA logs, compliance documentation, and training records.
• Support workers' compensation processes and return-to-work programs.
• Collaborate with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with standards.
• Coach leaders to drive safety ownership across the organization.
• Ensure environmental regulatory compliance in partnership with external stakeholders.
• Manage SPCC plans and associated site inspections and actions.
• Maintain inventory of environmental safety supplies and spill response materials.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The EHS Field Director leads safety, health, and environmental programs across field operations, ensuring compliance with OSHA, DOT, and environmental regulations. This role focuses heavily on construction safety, particularly precast concrete erection, crane operations, and working at heights. The position drives continuous improvement in safety practices while building a strong, accountable safety culture across all job sites.

WHAT YOU\u2019LL DO

• Develop, implement, and improve EHS programs to reduce risk and ensure regulatory compliance.

• Partner with project teams (PMs, superintendents, foremen) to implement practical safety solutions.


• Deliver impactful safety training and communication to employees at all levels.


• Oversee safety reporting, OSHA logs, compliance documentation, and training records.


• Support workers\' compensation processes and return-to-work programs.


• Collaborate with regulatory agencies and ensure compliance with all applicable standards.


• Coach and mentor leaders to drive safety ownership across the organization.


• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations in partnership with external stakeholders.


• Manage and train on Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans.


• Oversee site inspections, spill reporting, and corrective actions.


• Maintain inventory of environmental safety supplies, including spill response materials.

WHO WE\u2019RE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate is a proactive safety leader with deep experience in heavy construction and a passion for building strong safety cultures. They are highly collaborative, able to influence teams at all levels, and skilled at turning regulatory requirements into practical, field-ready solutions. This individual is detail-oriented, data-driven, and committed to continuous improvement in both safety performance and employee engagement.

IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE

• Bachelor\'s degree in Occupational Safety, Management, or related field preferred.


• 5-10 years of construction safety experience (precast, cranes, rigging, heavy construction).


• CSP (Certified Safety Professional) strongly preferred.


• OSHA 10/30 certifications; OSHA 500 preferred.


• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, especially construction standards.


• Excellent communication, leadership, and coaching skills.


• Valid driver\'s license and ability to travel to job sites.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Occasional visits to active plant and field locations are required based on operational needs.


• Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required while in the plant and field.


• Must be able to stand, walk, and navigate active plant and field environments as needed.


• Must be able to climb stairs, walk on uneven surfaces, and safely move through industrial work areas.


• May be exposed to moving equipment, machinery, and other standard industrial hazards.


• May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, as well as noise, dust, and vibration.
