Job summary

Dow Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Safety Lead for the St. Charles Operations to ensure daily safe maintenance work and implement Dow’s Health-Safety management systems.

You will guide, mentor and influence peers, co-workers and contractors to achieve safe, healthy work while coordinating with plant teams and maintenance personnel. The role emphasizes field presence (50–70%), leadership in EH&S, and collaboration to meet Life Critical Standards during maintenance activities and turnarounds.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years in operations, maintenance coordination, safety support or similar in manufacturing.
• U.S. work authorization; TWIC card (or eligible) required.
• Willing to work overtime and after hours for plant activities such as turnarounds.

Responsibilities

• Advocates for an inclusive culture and flawless execution of Life Critical Standards.
• Spends 50–70% of time in the field serving as a technical resource and coaching teams on EH&S tasks.
• Proactively discuss and resolve EH&S issues with maintenance personnel and contractors.
• Leads safety meetings and participates in contractor safety discussions and tailgates.
• Manages safety programs (Safety Suggestion, Near Miss, EH&S Participation) for the Maint Area.
• Supports implementation of detailed health and safety programs per Dow processes.
• Ensures EH&S aspects of Maintenance Job Plans are applied in the field.
• Pre-job reviews with contractor companies and as the maintenance area’s EH&S contact.
