Job summary

CLAAS FARMPOINT in Jamestown, ND is seeking a Resident Technician to provide on-site diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs for CLAAS equipment. The role emphasizes exceptional customer service and autonomous work within company guardrails and a mobile service model.

The position requires 3+ years in field service or engineering on agricultural equipment, a Diesel Technology background is preferred, and willingness to travel within the region.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in field service technician or engineering role on agricultural equipment.
• Independent in completing assigned tasks with sound ad hoc decision making.
• Working knowledge of CLAAS equipment and parts is a plus.
• Ability to travel within region and to be able to work with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex on-site diagnostics, service, repairs, and maintenance on customer CLAAS equipment; in-shop repairs as needed.
• Review and explain maintenance or repair concerns to the customer and document on the work order.
• Establish stocking processes with Parts Department to maintain seasonal parts inventory.
• Support machinery setup and adjustments.
• Promote and sell service programs to assigned customers.
• Maintain current mechanical and technical knowledge of CLAAS and competitive products.
• Complete reports and forms, including time and materials, for each task.
