Job summary

Transwest Mobile is seeking a Mobile Diesel & Reefer Technician in Fontana, CA to diagnose, service and repair transport refrigeration units and heavy‑duty diesel engines. You will work with refrigeration, electrical, and engine components, using advanced diagnostic tools, and travel to job sites as needed in a mobile role with a company vehicle.

The role requires EPA 608 certification, 5+ years of hands-on experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with diesel engines, hydraulics or electrical systems including reefer units.
• Active EPA 608 certification is required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive a company vehicle.
• ASE certifications or OEM-specific training are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, and repair transport refrigeration (reefer) units, including refrigeration, electrical, and engine components.
• Perform advanced maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and farm machinery.
• Handle, recover, and charge refrigerants in compliance with EPA regulations.
• Execute both scheduled and unscheduled repairs with minimal supervision, ensuring safety and performance.
• Operate cranes and specialized equipment to support repair tasks.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities.
• Mentor entry-level technicians and collaborate with teams to improve service delivery.
