Job summary

Transwest Mobile is hiring a Field Fleet Technician in Fontana, CA. The role focuses on diagnostics, repairs, and overhauls for heavy equipment, with responsibilities spanning electrical systems, hydraulics, CAN bus, and ECM.

You will mentor junior technicians while delivering high-quality service to fleet operators. The position requires 5–10+ years of hands-on experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work in indoor/outdoor environments.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of experience in heavy equipment, diesel, or hydraulic system repairs.
• Expert-level knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Proficiency in advanced diagnostics and complex repairs (e.g., CAN bus, ECM).
• Ability to supply a full set of professional tools.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive a company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced diagnostics and repairs on heavy-duty diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems (including CAN bus and ECM), and medium/light duty applications.
• Perform engine overhauls, rebuilds, and complex repairs with precision.
• Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and service manuals to troubleshoot intricate issues.
• Operate cranes and specialized equipment to support high-level maintenance tasks.
• Mentor and train junior technicians, fostering a culture of excellence.
• Communicate diagnostics and recommendations clearly to customers.
• Maintain meticulous records of repairs and maintenance activities.
• Drive process improvements and ensure safety compliance.
