Job summary

Transwest Mobile is seeking a Field Diesel Powertrain & Hydraulics Specialist in Laredo, TX. You will own a mobile territory, diagnose and repair heavy-duty engines, drives, hydraulics, and electrical systems, and advise fleet managers to prevent downtime.

You will work independently with high standards for quality, safety, and customer service. A take-home service truck and ongoing training support are provided in this growing market.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on diesel and/or heavy equipment repair experience (mobile/field preferred).
• Strong diagnostic capability across engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and drivetrain components.
• Professional, customer-first communication and high personal accountability.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Own a mobile territory across Laredo and surrounding South Texas region.
• Diagnose and repair heavy-duty diesel engines, transmissions, drivetrains, and hydraulic systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and document diagnostics, repairs, and inspections.
• Communicate clear recommendations to fleet managers and site leaders.

First stop: a fleet yard with a tractor down due to a DEF fault. You connect OEM software, dive into the data, and pinpoint the issue—not by swapping parts, but by tracing the real root cause. By noon, you’re at a construction site troubleshooting a slow-lifting boom—hydraulics this time. Before the sun sets, you’ve documented each repair, advised two fleet managers on preventive steps, and helped a customer avoid costly downtime. That’s a day in the life on our founding team.Build Something From the Ground UpTranswest Mobile Truck Repair is launching a new market in Laredo, and this role is one of the first pieces in place. You won’t step into an existing structure—you’ll help design it.
