Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Field Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III - Field Service) to perform maintenance and repairs on complex rental equipment in a safe, professional manner. You’ll travel to customer sites, diagnose issues, and work toward leadership roles within the Service Department while delivering exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3–5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Strong mechanical background with various engines.
• Superior customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Safe maintenance and repair of complex rental equipment across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of equipment; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist in training lower-level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation (work orders) daily and accurately.
• Assist with pickup and delivery of equipment and parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
