Job summary

United Rentals, the world's largest equipment rental provider, is seeking a Field Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III - Field Service). You will perform maintenance and repairs on complex rental equipment in a safe, professional manner, with opportunities to advance.

You will travel to customer sites, train lower level technicians, and ensure accurate documentation. The role emphasizes strong customer service, teamwork, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• 3-5 years of equipment repair/maintenance experience.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Strong engine knowledge.
• Must own tools.
• Excellent customer service and teamwork.
• Able to lift up to 45 lbs frequently.

Responsibilities

• Safe maintenance and repair of complex rental equipment (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems).
• Travel to customer sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer-owned equipment; maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner.
• Assist in the training of lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
