Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Field Diesel Mechanic to perform safe maintenance and repairs on complex rental equipment across multiple sites.

You will travel to customer locations, document work orders, and assist with training junior technicians while upholding exceptional customer service. The role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, 3-5 years of repair experience, and strong mechanical aptitude.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• 3-5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Strong mechanical background knowledge of engines.
• Must own tools applicable to position.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Safe maintenance and repair of complex rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance; maintain service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist in training of lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) daily.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
