As a Field Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III - Field Service), you'll perform maintenance and repairs on complex equipment safely and professionally. This role offers daily opportunities for growth, with potential to advance to higher Service Technician and leadership positions within our Service Department. You will also be expected to provide exceptional customer service to our clients.

Responsibilities:

• Perform safe maintenance and repair of a variety of complex rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Travel to customer sites for repair and maintenance; maintain a clean and professional service vehicle.
• Assist in training lower-level technicians as needed.
• Document work performed accurately and promptly, including work orders.
• Assist with equipment and parts pick-up and delivery.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• 3-5 years of experience in repairing and maintaining equipment and tools.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of tools.
• Knowledge of various engines and mechanical systems.
• Own tools applicable to the position.
• Excellent customer service, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Ability to lift items up to 45 lbs. frequently.

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive under United Rentals' policies.
