As a Field Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III - Field Service), you'll perform maintenance and repairs on complex equipment safely and professionally. You will have opportunities to improve, challenge yourself, and advance to higher technician and leadership roles within our Service Department. All team members are expected to provide exceptional customer service.

What You'll Do

• Perform safe maintenance and repair of various complex rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Travel to customer sites for repair/maintenance; maintain a clean and professional service vehicle.
• Assist in training lower-level technicians as needed.
• Maintain documentation of work performed (work orders) accurately and promptly.
• Assist with equipment and parts pick-up/delivery.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• 3-5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of tools and engines.
• Own tools applicable to the position.
• Excellent customer service, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Ability to lift items up to 45 lbs. frequently.

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive per United Rentals' policies.
