As a Field Diesel Mechanic – Customer Equipment Solutions (Service Tech III - Field Service - CES), you'll perform maintenance and repairs of complex equipment on customer-owned equipment with limited or no supervision, in a highly skilled, safe, and professional manner. You will have opportunities to improve, challenge yourself, and advance to higher Service Technician and leadership roles. Providing exceptional customer service is a key expectation.

What You'll Do

• Perform safe maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on customer equipment and tools, using a high degree of independent judgment.
• Maintain documentation of work performed (work orders) accurately and promptly.
• Upsell and demonstrate a wide array of complex equipment to customers.
• Travel to customer sites for repair and maintenance; keep the service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• 3-5 years of experience repairing and maintaining equipment and tools.
• Advanced mechanical skills and working knowledge of tools.
• Knowledge of construction equipment and engines.
• Own tools applicable to the position.
• Excellent customer service, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive according to United Rentals' policies.
