Job summary

Baker Commodities Inc. seeks a field-based salesperson to build and maintain relationships in the meat, fish, and food processing sectors. The role requires extensive travel, customer communication, and coordination with operations to ensure service quality.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years in the restaurant/food industry, a high school diploma, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Travel will be 75–90% with opportunities to grow within a privately owned, long-standing company.

Qualifications

• 75-90% travel requirement.
• Valid Driver's License with acceptable MVR.
• 3–5 years’ experience in restaurant/food industry.
• Able to work independently.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Solicit new business and maintain existing customer base in meat, fish, food processing, and related services.
• Communicate with customers to ensure proper service, identify additional needs, and overall satisfaction.
• Meet with cancelled accounts to understand reasons and attempt to win them back.
• Schedule meetings and set up cold calls in areas identified by management.
• Communicate effectively with customers and all levels of Company personnel.
• May meet with City/County inspectors involved in regulations.
• 75-90 percent of the day in the field visiting customers.
• Prepare customer setup sheets and enter new customer data into routing system.
• Provide daily reports to Division General Manager and Procurement Operations Manager.
• Follow up on stops with no material picked up to determine routing.
• Interact with others professionally and ethically.
• Follow department and company procedures.
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
• Other duties as assigned to ensure efficient operation.
