Job summary

The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services seeks CPI Investigations Specialist I–IV in a mobile, field-based role in Waco. You will interview families, conduct forensic investigations, coordinate with schools, law enforcement, courts, and medical professionals to determine safety and risk.

Not a telework position; extensive documentation is required. Requirements include an accredited Bachelor's or Associate's degree (or equivalent college credits) and relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree OR Associate's degree OR college credit hours meeting criteria.
• Experience in social, human, or protective services is preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 60% and work irregular hours.

Responsibilities

• Respond to reports of abuse/neglect and conduct investigations.
• Interview families, gather information, and assess safety.
• Document all findings and coordinate with partners.
