Job summary

Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) seeks a CPI Investigation Worker Trainee for mobile, field-based work across communities. You will respond to reports, conduct forensic investigations, interview families, and coordinate with schools, law enforcement, and courts to ensure child safety.

The role requires adaptability, strong judgment, and extensive documentation. Significant travel is expected, with a regular day in the field and occasional office time as directed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in social, human, or protective services.
• Bachelor's/Associate's or 60 credit hours with relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Responds to child abuse/neglect reports and conducts investigations.
• Interviews families, caregivers, and professionals, documents findings.
• Coordinates with law enforcement, schools, and courts.
• Maintains timely case documentation and reporting.
