Job summary

Plains is seeking a Corrosion Technician for field-based work in the oil and gas transportation sector. The role involves inspecting cathodic protection systems, collecting data, and maintaining records in line with DOT/OSHA requirements.

You will work in open environments with exposure to heat, cold, and chemicals, and may be called out for emergencies. Level I–III responsibilities vary, with potential project leadership and independent work as you gain seniority.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be certified with NACE CP2 and have corrosion field experience.
• Solid reading of maps, schematics and ability to document readings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot CP systems and corrosion control equipment.
• Record field readings, maintain logs and generate reports.
• Ensure safety practices and regulatory compliance on-site.
