Job summary

Energy Transfer Partners, L.P. seeks a corrosion technician to apply knowledge to repair, install, troubleshoot, analyze, and perform predictive and preventative maintenance on gas and liquid facilities and pipelines.

You will conduct cathodic protection surveys, evaluate coatings and pipe anomalies, read maps and as-builts, ensure OSHA/DOT/EPA compliance, and train others while working in demanding field conditions.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite products.
• Ability to train other technicians and/or sign off on qualifications.
• Preferred qualifications include corrosion-related AS degree or certification.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, inspect, and maintain cathodic protection systems within pipeline segments or facilities.
• Perform corrosion control and compliance for buried, submerged, or above-ground facilities.
• Conduct pipe-to-soil potential surveys and readings, document results, and update corrosion databases.
• Evaluate protective coatings and pipe anomalies; perform remaining strength calculations as required.
• Read pipeline maps, as-builts, and PLDs; ensure compliance with SOPs and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain safety equipment and adhere to SOPs and engineering drawings.
• Participate in PHMSA/state audits and safety programs.
• Assist in training others and evaluating skill qualifications.
