Job summary

Plains is seeking a Corrosion Technician to inspect, maintain, and design cathodic protection (CP) systems for pipelines and facilities in challenging field environments. The role requires compliance with DOT/PHMSA regulations and strict safety protocols, with data collection, reporting, and mapping tasks performed in the field.

Levels I–III describe increasing responsibility, from supervised CP surveys to independent leadership on projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• NACE CP2 Certification and NACE Basic Internal Corrosion Certification preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret pipeline maps and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot cathodic protection (CP) systems and corrosion control equipment.
• Perform field readings and surveys; maintain records (test points, rectifiers, control points, etc.).
• Develop reports from data and update corrosion control mapping systems.
