Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Field Controls Specialist to support building automation and controls projects across the U.S. This hands-on field role focuses on startup, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of BAS/DDC and PLC-based systems.

The position requires extensive travel (up to 95%). Travel expenses, lodging, and per diem are provided. Ideal candidates have BAS/HVAC controls experience and the ability to read wiring diagrams and control sequences.

Qualifications

Experience or training in BAS, HVAC controls, or related field.
Understanding of low-voltage wiring, controllers, relays, sensors, and basic electrical troubleshooting.
Exposure to BAS/DDC or PLC platforms is preferred.
Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, or similar communication protocols is a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform startup, testing, and commissioning of building automation and control systems.
Complete point-to-point checkout of controllers, sensors, equipment, and field devices.
Troubleshoot control wiring, communication, networking, and system issues.
Work with HVAC equipment including AHUs, VAVs, FCUs, CRAHs, and chilled/hot water systems.
Read control drawings, wiring diagrams, sequences of operation, and equipment documentation.
Support functional testing and commissioning on large-scale and mission-critical projects.
Document test results, deficiencies, and field issues.
Coordinate with project teams, contractors, electricians, and other trades.
