Job summary

Fives Intralogistics is seeking a Field Engineer to lead on-site execution, commissioning, and technical support for industrial equipment at customer facilities in Louisville, KY. You will verify installations, configure PLC/HMI systems, troubleshoot, and perform performance testing to meet project specs and safety standards.

The role requires extensive travel (often 80%+), strong problem‑solving and communication skills, and the ability to work independently in customer environments.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience with industrial equipment commissioning or troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of PLC Rockwell, HMI, SCADA and Industrial PC.
• Ability to read electrical, mechanical, and process drawings.
• Strong hands‑on skills in industrial automation or process equipment.
• Willingness to travel extensively (often 80%+ travel) to customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Reviews project documentation to plan on-site activities and prepare test plans.
• Plans and executes on-site work with safety protocols and site coordination.
• Verifies installations, configures field buses, PLC/HMI, and supports testing.
• Troubleshoots equipment, analyzes issues, performs root-cause analysis, and tunes systems.
• Coordinates with project personnel, subcontractors, customers, and regulatory agencies to stay on schedule and budget.
• Prepares detailed site reports, service/inspection feedback, and commissioning records.
