Job summary

Fives is seeking a Field Engineer to lead on-site execution, commissioning, and support for industrial equipment at customer facilities in Kentucky and beyond. You will verify installation, configure systems, run tests, and support safety and quality standards while meeting schedule and budget targets.

Ideal candidates have a degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, hands-on automation experience, familiarity with Rockwell PLC/HMI/SCADA, and ability to travel 80%+.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Experience with industrial equipment commissioning or troubleshooting.
• Ability to read electrical, mechanical, and process drawings.
• Knowledge of Rockwell PLC, HMI, SCADA systems.
• Willingness to travel extensively (80%+).

Responsibilities

• Reviews project documentation to determine scope, timelines, and procedures for on-site activities.
• Plans and executes on-site work with test plans and safety protocols.
• Verifies installations, configures field buses, PLC/HMI functions, and conducts testing.
• Analyzes site conditions, troubleshoots equipment, and performs root cause analysis.
• Coordinates with project personnel, subcontractors, customers, and agencies to keep on schedule and within budget.
• Provides technical advice to site teams and escalates issues as needed.
• Prepares site reports, service feedback, and commissioning records.
• Ensures safety and quality standards during all on-site interventions.
• Travels to customer sites to perform commissioning, maintenance, or emergencies.
