Job summary

KraussMaffei is seeking a Field Controls Engineer to provide on-site and remote technical support for installation, repair, and optimization of KraussMaffei equipment. You will diagnose complex electrical and mechanical issues, commission systems, train customers, and contribute to continuous improvement with RPM projects.

The role requires strong PLC knowledge, hands-on experience with industrial automation tools, and willingness to travel multi-regionally (up to 80%).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of troubleshooting, commissioning, installing, and servicing industrial equipment.
• Working knowledge of PLC-based control systems and electrical schematics.
• Able to analyze and resolve electrical, controls, and mechanical issues in fast-paced environments.
• Competency with workflow software (MS Office, Innosoft, Concur, SAP).

Responsibilities

• Analyze, troubleshoot, and restore function to KraussMaffei equipment.
• Commission equipment and ensure customer handoff per procedures.
• Review work, costs, and time with manager and customer.
• Create detailed service reports with visit descriptions and costs.
• Train customers on operation and maintenance of KraussMaffei equipment.
• Lead and train junior service personnel as needed.
• Follow standardized procedures.
• Gather information to create standardized procedures for opportunities.
• Plan and lead RPM controls and automation work.
• Collaborate with RPM team on strategic vision and sales leads.
