Job summary

Unicon Systems seeks a hands-on Controls Engineer II to support customer-site upgrades, retrofits, commissioning, and field implementation. You will work with PLCs, HMIs, and electrical schematics to ensure successful deployments across conveyor systems and automation equipment.

The role requires strong experience with Studio 5000/RSLogix, FactoryTalk View, AutoCAD Electrical, and 2+ years in controls engineering. Travel up to 50% and field-based work are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in controls, electrical, or systems engineering.
• 2+ years in controls engineering, industrial automation, or related field.
• Strong hands-on experience with Ladder Logic programming.
• Experience with Studio 5000/RSLogix and FactoryTalk View.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical.
• Experience troubleshooting PLC-based control systems in production or field environments.
• Travel up to 50% based on project requirements and authorized work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, test, troubleshoot, and debug PLC and HMI software.
• Perform controls upgrades, retrofits, startup, commissioning at customer sites.
• Program and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs using Studio 5000/RSLogix and Ladder Logic.
• Develop and support FactoryTalk View HMI applications.
• Support installation and integration of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, motors, sensors, and I/O.
• Create electrical schematics, panel drawings, I/O layouts using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, control panels, field devices, and networks.
• Assist with hardware selection, procurement support, and project planning.
