Job summary

Turner Construction Company in New York, NY is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to lead subcontractors and Turner trades on the New York Main division. You will supervise Field Engineers and interns, ensure safety, manage schedules and budgeting, and coordinate with owners and engineers on field issues to keep the project on track.

You must read and interpret contracts and drawings, demonstrate strong leadership, and oversee billing and progress payments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus a minimum two years' related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
• Proven written and verbal communication abilities; proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing and directing work of subcontractors and Turner trade labor in assigned areas.
• Ensure safety, schedule delivery, quality of work, and adherence to budget in the project area.
• Supervise Field Engineers and interns, including performance input.
• Create schedules, determine sequencing, and implement recovery strategies to maintain the project schedule.
• Communicate with owners and architects/engineers on field issues and resolve them.
• Manage the billing process, including monthly estimates of work completed, payrolls, invoices and payment applications.
• Maintain knowledge of contracts, drawings, schedules and local codes.
