Job summary

Dean Snyder Construction is seeking a Superintendent I to direct the activities ofConstruction crews and supervise projects daily. You will initiate, carry out, monitor, and assign work, keeping jobs on schedule while ensuring safety and OSHA compliance.

You will communicate with owners, project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors; lead safety initiatives, manage staffing, and oversee quality of work in the field. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Coordinating, scheduling and delegating tasks.
• Serve as a working superintendent with knowledge of self-performing trades (carpentry, concrete, steel erection, millwrights).
• Supervising and earning respect of employees.
• Inventorying supplies and materials.
• Reading blueprints and engineering plans.
• Inspecting job sites for safety compliance.
• Communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with owners, subcontractors, project managers, and teams.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Directs activities of construction crews and supervises projects daily.
• Initiates, carries out, monitors, and assigns work to crews; keeps jobs on schedule.
• Works in the field with crew members to ensure quality work and maintain productivity.
• Inspects and ensures proper layout, surveys subs for correct layout, and coordinates with project managers.
• Performs inspections to ensure OSHA compliance and safety; maintains required records.
• Attends progress meetings with project manager and owner/customers; communicates issues timely.
• Purchases materials and tools; manages inventories and coordinates with project manager.
• Schedules meetings with crews to convey safety information and company policies; ensures on-site safety.
