Job summary

Cape Cod Lumber Co Inc is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to drive sales of construction materials by building relationships with contractors, builders, and remodelers. The role is field-based, with about 80% of time spent visiting job sites and contractor offices.

The OSR will proactively identify prospects, travel within the territory, and act as a business consultant for existing accounts. Strong communication, blueprints reading, and product knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in outside sales for building materials or construction.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand residential/commercial projects.
• Strong negotiation, presentation, and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service; proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Travel within assigned territory to build relationships with contractors and builders.
• Manage full sales cycle from outreach to closing deals.
• Provide product recommendations and stay current on products and codes.
• Coordinate with estimating/engineering and inside sales teams.
• Ensure timely delivery and resolve delivery or product issues.
