Job summary

JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group seeks a Safety Specialist to coordinate and implement field safety programs on our large industrial construction projects nationwide. You will conduct site walk-throughs, safety audits, and new hire orientations, ensuring compliance with laws and company policies while identifying corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a safety and health-related field preferred.
• Equivalent relevant experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement the field safety program for routine construction projects.
• Conduct regular walk-through inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with laws and Company policies.
• Conduct safety audits on assigned projects by identifying, documenting and recommending abatement of hazardous conditions to internal and external clients.
• Conduct project-specific new hire orientation and oversee drug and alcohol policy compliance.
• Monitor the implementation of prime contractor and/or subcontractors’ safety programs.
• Attend project pre-planning, progress and other relevant project-related meetings to discuss safety-related matters.
• Support field leadership in the implementation of the safety program specifics, such as meetings, committees and related activities and chairing the project safety committee.
• Assist in the investigation of project-related accidents and discuss root-cause and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with injured employees and clinics to ensure timely treatment and return to work.
• Monitor site safety incentive program.
