Job summary

Kokosing Industrial, Inc. is seeking a Safety Specialist to support field safety programs in the Central Indiana market.

The role focuses on implementing safety policies, conducting trainings, and coordinating with managers and frontline personnel to uphold a safe work environment. Ideal candidates will have 3–6+ years in construction safety, strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Safety and Health or equivalent combinations of technical training and experience.
3–6+ years of experience in safety and health in the construction industry preferred.
Knowledge of OSHA, DOT and EPA regulations and company safety policies/procedures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interface with clients and colleagues.
Valid driver's license; CPR/First Aid/AED certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist in developing strategies to reduce injuries, illnesses and incidents.
Provide training and education on safety and health requirements.
Lead pre-job safety planning meetings and emergency plans.
Perform safety audits, evaluations and inspections; document findings.
Coordinate safety programs with subcontractors, vendors and third parties.
Serve as contact for OSHA and other authorities when the Safety Manager is unavailable.
