Job summary

Sheakley Workforce Staffing seeks a Construction Safety Representative in Canton, OH for a 2-year 1099 contract. The role entails daily field safety oversight for civil construction crews, ensuring OSHA compliance, reviewing JHAs/AHAs, and coordinating with subcontractors.

Expect a long-term project with overtime on a 60-hour work week, 6:00 AM–4:00 PM, Monday–Saturday. The ideal candidate will have CHST/ASP/CSP or BCSP credentials, current CPR/First Aid/AED, and 5+ years of construction safety

Qualifications

CHST, ASP, CSP, or BCSP credential preferred.
CPR/First Aid/AED certification current.
Minimum 5+ years of construction safety experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide daily field safety oversight for civil construction operations.
Maintain a visible field presence in active work areas.
Conduct site inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and permit reviews.
Monitor excavation, utility installation, grading, and heavy equipment activities.
Coordinate with project management and subcontractors on safety.
Lead incident investigations and corrective actions.
Maintain safety documentation and compliance reports.
Promote a proactive safety culture across the project.
