Job summary

Sheakley Workforce Staffing seeks a Construction Safety Manager for an 8-month, 1099 contractor role in Sandusky, OH. You will provide hands-on field safety oversight across utility and concrete construction, coordinating with craft personnel, subcontractors, and project leadership to keep work compliant and productive.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in construction safety, data center or large commercial projects, OSHA 30, and CPR/First Aid.

Qualifications

Minimum 7 years of construction safety experience.
Data Center Construction or Large Commercial Building Construction experience.
Associate's or Bachelor's in EHS, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or BCSP credential (ASP, CSP, CHST, OHST, or STSC).
OSHA 30 Construction Certification.
Current CPR / First Aid / AED Certification (Within Past 2 Years).

Responsibilities

Provide daily field safety oversight for utility and concrete construction operations.
Maintain a highly visible presence in active work areas.
Conduct routine site inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments.
Review JHAs/AHAs, permits, and pre-task plans to ensure compliance.
Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate timely corrective actions.
Coordinate safety activities with project management, supervision, subcontractors, and contractors.
