Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Quality Manager I to own the QC program on a project in Ohio. You will maintain the ITP, schedule and witness tests, and generate daily QC reports while opening and tracking nonconformances with the superintendent and engineer of record.

You will also keep submittal, mix design, and material certification files audit-ready, with growth toward Quality Manager II on larger programs. Travel as needed to project sites and HQ in Sugar Land if required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in construction materials testing, special inspection, or contractor QC.
• Able to read specifications and drawings and turn them into a test schedule.
• Direct, organized, and comfortable telling a superintendent that a lift does not pass.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the project inspection and test plan (ITP) and the testing frequency log against the specifications; Schedule and witness field and laboratory tests; verify certifications of the technicians performing them; Write the daily quality control report and the three-phase (preparatory, initial, follow-up) meeting records; Open, track, and close nonconformance reports with the superintendent and the engineer of record; Keep submittal, mix design, and material certification files audit-ready.
• The week starts with the look-ahead: pours, lifts, and structural work; witness tests; certifications and calibrations; write the daily report; NCRs opened the same day and tracked to retest.
• Quality management here sits inside a documented system; sponsored training covers required courses; next seat is Quality Manager II.
