Job summary

SAMA is seeking a Construction Quality Engineer to oversee field QA/QC on CBP CTSE/CBTT projects along the U.S.–Mexico border. You will conduct inspections, develop ITPs, and ensure compliance with drawings, specs, and codes, working closely with engineering, quality, and field teams.

This 100% field-based role requires domestic travel, often to remote sites in California. Per diem applies, and you will coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers while maintaining thorough quality records.

Qualifications

• PE license in CA or AZ.
• BS in Civil Engineering.
• Experience in QA/QC and construction inspection.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply construction drawings, specifications, and CAD models.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Construction Quality Plans for assigned projects.
• Manage construction quality throughout the project lifecycle including site prep, utilities, and site restoration.
• Evaluate project risks and impacts to cost, schedule, quality, and safety.
• Ensure work complies with drawings, specs, codes, safety requirements, and quality standards.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to resolve quality issues.
• Prepare and maintain inspection and test records and NCRs.
