Chesapeake Utilities Corporation seeks a Construction and Maintenance Technician I to support safe operation, installation, and maintenance of gas infrastructure. Primarily outdoor field work in Beaver Run, MD, with weekend and on-call rotation.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, entry-level mechanical experience, and a valid driver's license with CDL within 18 months. Emphasis on safety and basic computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Entry-level mechanical/industrial experience or tools experience.
• Valid driver's license; ability to obtain CDL within 18 months.
• Strong focus on safety.
• Basic computer skills (MS Office) and good communication.

Responsibilities

• Assists with operation and maintenance of gas pipelines and facilities.
• Maintains company equipment, facilities, and grounds.
• Performs pipeline maintenance (leak repairs, cathodic protection, ROW clearing, valve maintenance).
• Operates equipment with guidance and maintains daily records.
• Keeps company truck stocked and organized.
• Performs light maintenance on facilities/equipment.
• Assists with peak shaving processes as needed.
