Job summary

Benchmark Construction is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join our Field Management team in Lancaster, PA. You will lead portions of projects, coordinate field teams and subcontractors, and uphold Benchmark safety and quality standards.

You will plan, track progress, and support turnover activities while developing leadership skills for future growth within our company. A strong emphasis on teamwork and communication drives our successful projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction leadership experience.
• Ability to read architectural, structural, and site drawings and translate plans to field execution.
• OSHA 30-Hour and First Aid/CPR/AED certified.
• Skilled at managing schedules, manpower, logistics, and documentation.
• Strong communication and leadership in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Own Your Scope: lead a portion of a large project or a smaller project to Benchmark standards.
• Coordinate the Work: direct Benchmark employees and subcontractors with the right resources and information.
• Drive Productivity: plan work, monitor manpower, and maintain field momentum to stay on schedule.
• Champion Safety: enforce safety standards, identify hazards, and promote safe practices.
• Protect Quality: review work, correct issues, and minimize punch lists with craftsmanship.
• Be the Connector: collaborate with Superintendents, Project Managers, field teams, and subcontractors.
• Plan Ahead: assist with look-ahead schedules, shop drawings, deliveries, and logistics.
• Lead Through Influence: support development, provide feedback, and foster a high-performing culture.
• Own the Details: maintain logs, photos, drawings, and project documentation.
• Learn & Grow: participate in turnover meetings, kickoffs, and training for leadership readiness.
• Build Relationships: communicate professionally with clients and partners and represent Benchmark with integrity.
• Step Up: take the lead when needed and drive successful project outcomes.
