Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a field inspector to support transportation construction projects across multiple locations in the United States. You will inspect traffic control, environmental controls and construction methods under direct supervision, ensuring compliance with plans and specifications.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel 20%–40%. Proficiency in English communication and basic math is essential, with familiarity in MS

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in English.
• Basic knowledge of arithmetic.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn new applications quickly.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials.
• Review daily contractor reports and verify QA procedures.
• Review material testing procedures and measure quantities of materials placed.
• May perform sampling and in‑place testing of soil, aggregate base, concrete and asphalt.
