The City and County of Honolulu is seeking one Construction Inspector in the Department of Planning and Permitting, Site Development Division, to independently inspect subdivision and infrastructure projects for compliance with plans, permits, and city standards.

Responsibilities include field inspections of grading, erosion control, trenching, drainage, and ADA improvements, issuing notices as needed, and ensuring adherence to NPDES requirements, with regular hours but possible shift variations

Competenze

• 2 years of experience inspecting or supervising construction work.
• High school graduation; or equivalent education; substitution allowed per substitution policy.
• Valid driver’s license (type 3) prior to appointment.

Mansioni

• Conduct independent field inspections of permitted construction and infrastructure projects.
• Inspect grading and erosion control, issue compliance/violation notices, track corrective actions.
• Review trenching and street restoration work, including reinspection and warranty checks.
• Inspect subdivision and frontage improvements (drainage, sewer, pavements, ADA, traffic markings).
