Job summary

RK&K’s Construction Management and Engineering (CEI) team is hiring Construction Inspectors with interstate, roadway and bridge experience across North Carolina. You will perform inspections of materials, processes, safety, and documentation to ensure conformity with plans and specifications.

Essential functions include reviewing drawings, documenting results, conducting field measurements for pay items, and inspecting work zones for traffic control and erosion control.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of inspection experience.
• Experience and certifications in NCDOT inspection and materials testing preferred.
• Experience with NCDOT construction procedures is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and favorable driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex and routine inspections to verify materials and processes meet plans and specs.
• Review drawings and understand construction design to inspect accordingly.
• Document inspection results and communicate with supervisor.
• Conduct field measurements for pay item documentation and contract admin.
• Inspect work zones for traffic control, erosion devices, maintenance, and ROW issues.
