Job summary

RK&K is seeking an experienced Construction Inspector to join our Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) team in and around Charlotte, NC. The inspector will conduct field inspections for transportation, highways and structural construction projects within the heavy civil sector.

The role requires at least two years of roadway inspection experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Desired NCDOT certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• At least two years of roadway inspection experience for highway construction methods, materials, standards and specifications.
• Valid driver's license and favorable driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex and routine inspections to verify materials and construction processes meet plans and specs.
• Multitask and manage project assignments.
• Conduct field inspections and document results.
• Use mobile devices to document work per NC requirements.
• Review drawings and understand construction design to inspect accurately.
• Communicate inspection findings to the supervisor.
