Job summary

Union County Engineer's Office is seeking a full-time Construction Inspector to join the Engineer team. The role involves inspecting development sites, road projects, drainage, and right-of-way permits across the county with emphasis on conformance to plans and specifications.

Qualifications include an associate degree in construction technology or civil engineering and four years of engineering or surveying experience, or an equivalent combination.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Construction Technology or Civil Engineering.
• Four years engineering or surveying experience, or equivalent.
• Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license; bridge inspector beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Inspect development sites, subdivision roads, storm sewers and grading to ensure conformance with plans and specs.
• Inspect contract County Road improvements, culverts and bridges; prepare punch-lists and as-built logs.
• Assist with annual inspections and inventory of county bridges and culverts; issue right of way permits.
• Maintain daily inspection logs and coordinate projects with utilities and contractors.
