Job summary

Bernalillo County is seeking a Construction Inspector in Albuquerque, NM, to monitor inspections of roads, bridges, drainage, buildings, and utilities, and to test water pumping systems, soils, and concrete per TTCP/NMDOT specs.

You will prepare daily and monthly reports, track progress against schedules, and support partial payments to contractors. A HS diploma and 4 years of related experience are required, with certifications to be earned within nine months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; four years of general construction or related public works experience preferred.
• Experience with inspection, testing, and reporting on roadways, bridges, and utilities.
• Must maintain safety and quality standards and document work accurately.

Responsibilities

• Monitor inspections of roads, bridges, drainage facilities, buildings, and utilities to ensure compliance with plans and specs.
• Prepare daily and monthly reports on progress, quality, and estimated costs.
• Assist in contract documentation, measurements, and payments using designated software.
